For detailed information regarding Evacuation on campus, please refer to the Building Emergency Evacuation Plan (BEEP)
Remember:
If Evacuation is necessary, ALWAYS evacuate first. When safe and able call College Police at 619-388-6405 and/or 911.
Prioritize Immediate Safety
If you have come into contact with a dangerous or potentially dangerous chemical:
- Skin Exposure: Immediately flush the affected area with water for at least 15 minutes at a safety shower or sink. Remove any contaminated clothing while rinsing.
- Eye Exposure: Immediately flush eyes at an eyewash station for at least 15 minutes, holding eyelids open. Ensure contact lenses are removed immediately.
Once contaminated individuals have begun flushing the chemicals and are receiving first aid,
- Vacate the affected area at once and seal it off to prevent further contamination of others.
- Anyone who may be contaminated because they were in the immediate area affected by the spill is to avoid contact with others as much as possible but remain in the vicinity so that emergency personnel or campus personnel may assist.
