If There is a Civil Disturbance:
Remember:
When safe and able, always call College Police at 619-388-6405 and/or 911 in an emergency.
Prioritize Immediate Safety
If a civil disturbance happens on campus, it is essential to prioritize your safety and the safety of others.
- Stay calm, avoid panicking, and focus on finding a safe place.
- If you are outside, move away from the disturbance and do not engage with those causing the disturbance.
- If you are in a building, lock the doors and windows and do not engage with those causing the disturbance.
If a disruptive individual or crowd corners you or enters your immediate space, do not attempt to argue, defend property, or match their volume. De-escalation is key.
